REMINDERS:

1. I have updated the class blog with the kids' letters to santa.  (The students' originals are hanging in the hallway for now and will be sent home right before Christmas break.)  The typed version that you will see on the blog has been submitted to the Bernie, Malden, and Dexter papers.  I was told the Dexter paper will publish the letters in their Sunday, December 22nd issue.  I am not sure when they will be published in the Bernie and Malden papers.

2. Scholastic book orders are due online or in class tomorrow.  If we are out of school due to inclement weather, they will be due Monday.

3. If you volunteered to send supplies for the Christmas activities, we need those as soon as possible.  We will be completing these as soon as all supplies are donated.  Thank you for your help! The boys and girls are excited about the upcoming events this month.  :)

4. SAVE THE DATE:

The BETA club will be hosting "Snacks with Santa" this year on Saturday, December 14th.  The event is from 1-3 pm in the cafeteria.  Snacks and games will be provided, along with an opportunity to get a picture with Santa! The Parents as Teachers program will also be on hand with an activity. This is a community event and everyone is invited. We hope to see you there!

SECRET WORD:
Our secret words are she and he.  Please have your child write a sentence that includes the word he and one that includes the word she.  Have your child bring in the sentences to receive a treat.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDER:

Your child will be bringing home the December catalogs on Monday.  All orders are due by Friday the 6th.  If you want the order to be a Christmas gift for your child, send the order in a sealed envelope and include a note.  If you order online, send a note to school letting me know to contact you when the order is received so that you can pick it up in class. Remember, every ONLINE ORDER provides our classroom with free books.

CHRISTMAS PARTY:

Our Christmas Party will be Thursday, December 19th.  I will send home reminders closer to time if you volunteered to provide snacks.

There will be no student gift exchange during the Christmas Party; however, the students will be receiving gifts from me.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS:

As much as I love receiving Christmas presents from my students, our class needs supplies more than I need gifts.  I’m asking that students not bring Christmas presents for me; instead, if you would like to give me something, bring items for the classroom.  Below you will find a list of items we could use:

Toys!! (Legos, Animal Figures, Blocks, Tool Set, Doctor Set, etc)

Small Toys for our Prize Box (balls, jewelry, pens, notepads, etc)

Craft Supplies (glitter, beads, sequins, glitter glue, wiggle eyes, alphabet beads, etc)

Colored Expo Markers

Play Dough

Sidewalk Chalk

Children’s Books

Cardstock

Fun Size Bags of Skittles or M & M’s

Pull and Peel Twizzlers

Zipper Plastic Bags

Plastic Cups, Plates, Forks, and Spoons

Snacks

Silly Putty

…..And anything else the kids would enjoy having in class!

Thank you all for your generosity throughout this school year and your thoughts this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas!!!
