Ice Cream Cone Christmas Trees Today we made delicious Christmas trees by icing an upside down sugar cone with green icing, then decorating it with mini M&Ms and sugar crystals. They were fun and messy to make and the kids enjoyed eating them too! Pictures to come soon!
Christmas Party
We will not be exchanging gifts between students in kindergarten this year. There is plenty of excitement on Christmas party day and each child receives a gift from me. Thank you for your help.
Christmas Gift
Your child brought home a wrapped gift that they made for you in class. The kids told me many of you have already opened your special presents, and I hope you enjoyed them. The boys and girls were so excited to be able to take a gift home for you to open.

Wednesday, December 21st
Wednesday will be Polar Express/Pajama Day! Please send your child to school in his/her pajamas. Please do not send your child to school in house shoes, since we will be going out for recess and to walk to lunch.
Report cards will be sent home in your child's blue folder on January 10th. Please practice any skill listed that was not met with an "S" for Satisfactory. "I" is for Improving and "N" is Needs Improvement. These skills need to be mastered before the end of the year so your child is prepared for first grade.

Kindergarten Progress Report
Please review the “Kindergarten Preassessment” checklist your child is bringing home in his/her blue folder today. This is the same assessment that was sent to you before school began. As stated before, students must master all of these skills by the end of January or they may be recommended for retention. Items circled in red are items that are NOT YET MASTERED. Please continue to practice these skills with your child for the next several weeks.

Stockings
The stocking projects you completed over Thanksgiving break turned out great. The kids are so proud to bring their stockings in to class and present it to their classmates. They also make beautiful hallway decorations for our students and teachers to enjoy. Thank you for your hard work! Be looking for pictures of each child with his/her stocking to be posted on the blog with the December pictures.

Transportation Changes: Please have all after school transportation arrangements made and confirmed with your child before they leave for school each morning. If the arrangements are different, please send a note with your child to let the teacher know. Calling during the day interrupts instruction time. If you have an emergency and must change transportation plans, please call the elementary office before 1:00.

SECRET WORD
The new secret word is "with." Please have your child write "with" on a piece of paper three times, along with his/her full name. Send the secret word to class in your child's blue folder.
